Before they booked…

“I didn't have an online presence to match how legit and profesh my business is!

It was November 2022, I had just launched my beautiful new visual identity into the world and started to amp up my social presence, and I KNEW a website redesign was next. I was so excited to have a website that matched my business, since I had only ever had an About/Landing page (see image) that was leftover from my university web portfolio.”

— Mackenzie, Sit Studio

Objectives of our project together

Create an online space that gave her audience a taste of the high-touch and innovative approach to running a growing business.

Build trust and grow leads through promoting solutions with self-serve resources.

Reposition their expertise while creating a clear path for each offer to optimize for conversions.

The prep

Gathering data and assets

Mackenzie had a new brand and website on her mind for awhile. At the time, she was our studio manager so she knew exactly what she needed to gather to make the most of her new online experience.

A Professional Visual Identity

While Mackenzie had a simple logo, she knew that she wanted a brand that really nailed her super chill personality and love of color. Enter the queen of colorful brands - Ayesha Santos Design. This brand says welcoming and “I’m a legit expert at what I do”. From several logo alternates, icons, gifs and gorgeous brand patterns, this was a key piece of what makes this website work so well.

Words that validate and communicate the impact

If you’ve been in the only space, you know that words matter. I hooked Mackenzie up with Jen Turner of Gemini Copy Co. Jen took the challenges that all of us creative business owners face and Mackenzies new totally transformational services and whipped it into copy that you can’t stop reading.

Knowledge Transfer

To begin our next step, she completed our in-depth intake sharing the goal of her new website, current challenges, and important details about functionality.

The strategy

Calculated action

We started by reviewing Sit Studio’s brand guidelines, existing online presence, detailed intake and showed up to our Strategy call ready to go. During the call, we discussed in-depth her business goals, upcoming offerings and itemized functionality requirements to ensure the most streamlined user experience. We sourced several ideas for visual direction that would align with increasing conversions. Ideally, shortening the time from first impression (social media marketing) to initiating the working relationship.

We pull the vision, audience research, focus and visual inspo into one concise document called —the Website Direction. This is our guide for design (and an asset to revisit when you are ready to implement changes to your marketing strategy)

The design

Tailored to speak to overwhelmed creatives

During our design process, we focus on a “one concept” approach where we only present the strongest option. We implement and improve on it as we go.

Starting with the homepage design, we created it in Adobe XD so we didn’t waste time in the website platform. We present the homepage concept, previewing her copy, imagery and brand assets in use as well as, key sections with functionality ideas. Once the homepage was approved, we designed 3 additional internal pages. Gathered feedback and implemented refinements.

Then it was time to sign off on approval of the website design.

The development

Built to intrigue and guide website users down a clear path based on their needs

In our Web Accelerator process, we allocate two weeks to the development timeline. We can do this because we are using one of our in-house templates and tailoring it to the businesses we work with.

Special features we added to this project were:

  • Mobile navigation styling and custom menu

  • Change logo on scroll position

  • Rotating text graphics

  • Custom fonts, bullets and buttons

  • Split sticky in service section

  • Horizontial scrolling logos to highlight systems

  • Change background color behind text on hover and added link to last property

  • Integrating brand graphics to amplify her brand

The results speak for themselves…

We celebrate our collaboration, the results, the hard work that Mackenzie has put into marketing and growth.

Here at Stellar Theory, we never take full credit for the end result since we believe that our clients (we call them collaborators) are responsible for taking their new assets to take their growth to the next level.

These results were amplified by a professional brand, strategic copywriting, targeted offer ecosystem, website dedicated to converting leads and her drive to show up in her business.

Easily marketing her business and driving traffic to her new website.

Email list has doubled since launching her website in early 2023.

She worked hard to refine her offerings so that her buyers had a clear path for each part of their journey and challenges. Leading to better fit customers.

Page exits and bounce rates have both lowered by 60% which means that website visitors are staying on the site and converting into leads/subscribers.

A big value in her business was having time off to live a life and this year she took 100 days off thanks to streamlining.

Because of the way we built out her sections (and saved them) on the website she was easily able to build out case studies and multiple sales pages.
